Welcome to GunaFood

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GunaFood mobile application ("App"), operated by GunaFood ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. What GunaFood Is

GunaFood is an educational and informational tool that classifies foods according to the three Gunas of Ayurveda: Sattvic, Rajasic, and Tamasic. The App provides information drawn from traditional Ayurvedic texts and teachings to help you explore this ancient system of food classification.

2. What GunaFood Is NOT

Please read this section carefully.

Not medical advice. GunaFood does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The information in this App is not a substitute for professional medical advice from a qualified healthcare provider.
Not nutritional counseling. The App does not replace the advice of a registered dietitian, nutritionist, or other qualified nutrition professional.
Not clinically validated. The Ayurvedic food classifications are based on traditional texts and teachings. They have not been evaluated through modern clinical trials or peer-reviewed scientific research.
Not allergy or safety guidance. The App does not provide information about food allergies, intolerances, drug interactions, or food safety.

You are solely responsible for your dietary decisions. We strongly encourage you to consult with qualified healthcare professionals before making any changes to your diet.

3. Using the App

Acceptable Use

You agree to use GunaFood only for its intended purpose: exploring Ayurvedic food classifications for personal educational and informational use. You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Use the App to provide medical or nutritional advice to others
Attempt to access data or systems not intended for you
Redistribute the App's content or database outside the App

4. Intellectual Property

The GunaFood curated food database, including all Ayurvedic food classifications, descriptions, and educational content within the App, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content from the App without our prior written permission.

Any data you create within the App (search history, favorites, quiz results) belongs to you and is stored on your device.

5. Subscriptions and Premium Features

We may offer premium subscription plans in the future. If and when premium features are offered:

Pricing and billing will be clearly presented before purchase
Subscriptions will be processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Auto-renewal can be turned off in your device's app store settings
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies

6. AI-Powered Features (Future)

We plan to introduce AI-powered food classification features. When available, AI classifications are suggestions and may contain errors. Photos submitted for AI classification are processed transiently and not stored permanently.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT FOOD CLASSIFICATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GUNAFOOD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM DIETARY DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION FROM THE APP.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date and notify you through the App for significant changes. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
